Measure PDF drawings to scale.
Turn a known dimension on a PDF drawing into a calibrated scale, then measure distances and areas using PDF Craft Pro.
Start with a known dimension
Before taking measurements, use the scale-setting tool on a dimension whose real length you know. Pick its two endpoints and enter the known length. The app shows guidance while you set the scale.
Measure distances and areas
With the scale set, use the distance and area tools on your drawing. Zoom in when selecting points and check the calibration against another known dimension before relying on measurements. Different drawings or differently scaled pages may need their own calibration.
Keep a usable record
Save your work and export measurements to CSV for use in a spreadsheet or another workflow. Drawing measurement is included in Pro alongside editing, annotations, split and merge tools and watermarks.
Getting started
- Open your drawing in PDF Craft and sign in with Pro or an eligible trial.
- Set the scale from a known dimension, following the on-screen guidance.
- Check the scale, measure the drawing and export measurements to CSV when needed.
Your questions answered
Can I measure a drawing from its printed scale alone?
Calibrate against a known dimension in the actual PDF. A drawing may have been resized since its scale label was added.
Are measurements part of Free?
Measurement tools are part of Pro. Free still lets you view and print the drawing.
Can I export the measurements?
Yes. Pro supports exporting measurements to CSV.
